Is This a Feeling, or Sex?——Talk about Liu Chunbing’s “Ambiguity”

摘要: 刘春冰的组画《暧昧》描绘了城市夜晚酒吧的众生相，尤其是酒吧里面那些形形色色的欲望男女，以及他们之间的各种亲昵甚至放纵的行为。在情与性及其关系的艺术表现方面，显然存在着许多难以严格区分的暧昧性。而且，情往往成为性得以肆虐的一块漂亮的遮羞布。但作为一种可能的救赎，许多艺术都指向与针砭了人们生活的空虚与无聊。实际上，刘春冰的作品并没有放弃这种批评的立场。 Liu Chunbing’s “Ambiguity” (paintings) describes various acts which happened in night bar, particularly a variety of men and women of desire, and all kinds of intimacy and even indulgence between male and female. In the aspect of artistic expression about feeling, sex and their relationship, there are many ambiguities which are difficult to distinguish obviously. And feeling often becomes a beautiful piece of fig leaf for rampant sex. But as a possible salvation, many arts point to and deeply critisize the emptiness and boredom of people’s life. In fact, Liu Chunbing’s artworks did not give up the position of criticism.
