The Relationship between Positive Psychological Capital and Subjective Well-Being: A Meta-Analysis
Abstract: A meta-analysis was performed to explore the relationship between subjective well-being (SWB) and positive psychological capital, as well as potential moderating effects of research characteristics on these associations. In sum, 33 samples (N = 16,101) fulfilled selection criteria for analysis. We found the following results: 1) Positive psychological capital had positive correlation with subjective well-being, although considerable heterogeneity was observed for effect sizes. 2) Positive psychological capital also had correlations with the different subjective well-being constructs. In details, positive psychological capital had positive correlations with life satisfaction and positive affect and had negative correlations with negative affect. 3) The relations between positive psychological capital and subjective well-being were moderated by regional classification. Finally, the results and direction of further research were discussed.
