Objective: To investigate the gender differences on emotional vocabulary cognitive processing function of cranial nerve electrical activity mechanism with multi-channel ERPs. Methods: Emotion stimulus pictures of different emotional valence were applied on 60 healthy volunteers to test the five-level emotional valences of emotional evoked potential. The gender differences on emotional vocabulary cognitive processing function and emotional reactions on five emotional valence levels of emotional vocabulary were observed. Results: Male volunteers’ response time on the emotional vocabulary was much shorter than the females. Comparatively speaking, both of them were faster on the most negative and positive emotional vocabulary, and a longer reaction time on the neutral words and partial negative emotional vocabulary was needed. The gender statistical differences on the ERPs of emotional vocabulary processing were early distributed in bilateral orbital frontal parietal cortex, and were distributed later in bilateral orbitofrontal top wide memory and attention integration network. Conclusions: There are obvious gender differences on the cognitive processing of emotional vocabulary, which is hypothesized to be related to cultural background, social environment, family background, hormone level and other factors.
