The Domestication and Foreignization in Subtitle Translation of Lighting Up the Stars from the Perspective of Skopos Theory

摘要: 电影《人生大事》作为一部优秀文化传播作品，以幽默温情故事讲述中国独特的丧葬文化，不仅在国内取得了巨大成功，更在国际上赢得了认可。本文基于归化、异化翻译策略，分析电影《人生大事》字幕的英文翻译，旨在为国产电影字幕翻译提供借鉴，提高翻译质量，更好地促进中国文化对外传播。

Abstract: As an outstanding work of cultural communication, the film Lighting Up the Stars tells a humorous and warm story about China’s unique funeral culture, achieving great success domestically and winning international recognition. Based on the translation strategies of domestication and foreignization, this paper analyzes the English subtitle translation of Lighting Up the Stars, aiming to provide references for subtitle translation of domestic films, improve translation quality, and better promote the international communication of Chinese culture.
