翻译传播学视阈下《中国奇谭》中文化信息的跨域转换
On Cross-Domain Tranfer of Culture-Specific Information in “Yao-Chinese Folktale” from the Perspective of Translation as Communication
摘要: 带有中国民族特色的动画片翻译是一种特殊的翻译活动。作品的民族风格之下深藏着文化底蕴,同时字幕翻译又受到音画符号与文字符号适配等多模态体系约束,因此将影片中的文化信息进行外语转译,向来是翻译的重点与难点。现有研究多从语言视角探讨字幕翻译策略,视角较为单一。本文以翻译学与传播学理论为指导,依托把关人、噪音、受众及翻译动机、译者主体性等概念,采用文献研究法,以上美影厂与Bilibili联合出品的《中国奇谭》为个案,探索符合传播学原则的文化信息翻译路径。研究旨在突破单一语言视角的局限,为国产民族动画的跨文化传播提供可操作的路径参考,助力中国动画文化符号的输出与国际认同构建。
Abstract: The translation of animated films with distinct Chinese national characteristics constitutes a specialized form of translational activity. Beneath their national styles lie profound cultural deposits, and subtitle translation is further constrained by the multimodal system featuring the coordination of audio-visual signs and linguistic signs. As such, the foreign-language transcoding of cultural information in such films has long been a core focus and difficulty in translation practice. Existing studies mostly explore subtitle translation strategies from a purely linguistic perspective, which is relatively monodimensional. Guided by theories of translation studies and communication studies, and drawing on concepts including gatekeeper, noise, audience, translation motivation and translator’s subjectivity, this paper adopts the literature research method and takes Yao-Chinese Folktales (co-produced by Shanghai Animation Film Studio and Bilibili) as a case study to explore pathways for translating cultural information in accordance with communication principles. This research aims to transcend the limitations of the single linguistic perspective, provide actionable references for the cross-cultural communication of domestic national animations, and boost the export of Chinese animated cultural symbols and the construction of international recognition.
