Abstract: This article aims to review the complex relationship between vitamin A (VA) and the neonatal gut microbiota, explore the mechanisms by which VA maintains gut microbiota balance and promotes intestinal health, and examine the effects of vitamin A deficiency (VAD) on the composition and function of the gut microbiota as well as host health. By synthesizing relevant research findings from both domestic and international sources, this article reveals the mechanisms of interaction between VA and the gut microbiota, providing new perspectives and strategies for the prevention and treatment of intestinal diseases.
