意识形态影响下的《论语》英译研究——以儒家核心概念“仁”为例
A Study on the English Translation of The Analects of Confucius under the Influence of Ideology: A Case Study of the Confucian Core Concept Ren
摘要: 在西方汉学家眼中，儒家经典应当首推《论语》，《论语》是中国传统文化必不可少的一部分，蕴藏着独特的东方文化史观和哲学观。因此，《论语》的英译，历来是翻译界的重要研究课题。本文以儒家核心概念“仁”为例，将不同时期三位译者的《论语》英译文本进行对比研究，分析阐述产生不同译文的原因，即译者所在国家、所在时期的社会主流意识形态对自身的影响。
Abstract: Western Sinologists think that The Analects of Confucius is a necessary part of Chinese traditional culture and contains a unique oriental cultural viewpoint and philosophy. Therefore, the study on the influence of the social mainstream ideology upon translators in the English translation of The Analects of Confucius has always been an important topic in the translation circles. Taking the Confucian core concept “Ren” as an example, this paper makes a contrastive study on the English translation texts of The Analects of Confucius of three translators in different periods, analyzes and expounds the causes of different translations, that is, the influence of the mainstream ideology of society.
