Abstract: Semaphorins are a large family of secretory and membrane-bound proteins. It was recently discovered that Semaphorins are involved in the regulation of the immune system. Some Semaphorins and their receptors are expressed in various immune cells and affect the functions of immune cells, including cell activation, proliferation, migration and apoptosis. Semaphorin 3A (Sema 3A) is a secretory member of the Sema family. It has a strong immunomodulatory effect at all stages of the immune response. Sema 3A is widely expressed in bone, connective tissue, kidney, neurons and cartilage. This article mainly reviews the research progress of Sema 3A’s effect on main immune cells in recent years.
