Abstract: In recent years, residual cholesterol (remnant cholesterol, RC) has been proposed as a predictive indicator different from the four blood lipids, and has been confirmed in clinical trials. Type 2 dia-betes mellitus is caused by atherosclerosis due to the imbalance of glucose and lipid homeostasis, insulin resistance and other reasons, which leads to cardiovascular diseases. Countries such as Eu-rope and the United States have begun to attach great importance to the regulation of residual cho-lesterol in order to improve the prognosis of patients with cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, RC can be used as an effective monitoring indicator and has certain predictive research value.
