Abstract: Solanine is an important glycoalkaloid, with a variety of biological effects. It plays a role in pre-vention and treatment of many diseases, including its anti-tumor effect. Solanine exhibits its an-ti-tumor effect through regulation several cellular and molecular pathways which induce cell apoptosis and autophagy, and inhibit cancer cells’ migration, invasion, angiogenesis and metastasis. Therefore, anti-cancer effects of solanine and its mechanism are reviewed in this article.
