Abstract: The larvae of Anisakis species are parasitic in the marine fishes worldwide. Humans can lead to anisakidosis if they are infected by living anisakid larvae. Therefore, the taxonomy and distribution of Anisakis species have been extensively studied by many authors from all over the world. In the present study, the progress of study on Anisakis were made based on the publications in the last decade in order to understand the species identification and distribution of Anisakis species, and provide fundamental data for the control of anisakidosis and quarantine of export and import.
