The Relations between Interpersonal Self-Support Traits and Reactive-Proactive Aggression
Abstract: The study examined the relation between interpersonal self-support traits and reactive-proactive aggression. The Interpersonal Self-Support Scale for Undergraduate Students (ISSS-US) and Reac-tive Proactive Aggression Questionnaire (RPQ) were administrated to 1112 undergraduate stu-dents. The results showed that reactive aggression showed a significant negative correlation with interpersonal independence, interpersonal initiative, interpersonal responsibility, interpersonal flexibility and interpersonal openness; proactive aggression also showed a significant negative correlation with interpersonal independence, interpersonal responsibility, interpersonal flexibility and interpersonal openness. At the same time proactive aggression had a significant positive correlation with gender and grade. The results preliminarily support that interpersonal self- support traits are protective personality factor about reactive-proactive aggression.
