    Exploration of Teaching Effectiveness of Foreign Language Teacher—The Perceptions from College Students in English Major

摘要:

本文以“一带一路”下的我国外语语言框架为蓝本,基于国、内外外籍语言教师相关问题的前沿研究成果,从1000多名大学生视角发起对浙江省30所高校的外籍教师课堂实际教学效果的调查。本研究采用了混合研究法(定量和定性结合的三角论证法),旨在对如下问题进行探索:1) 通过外籍教师的教学后,中方学生在学习成绩的表现如何?外教是否对帮助学生提高英语口语水平有实际作用?2) 外籍教师对中方学生的学习积极性方面有何作用?中方学生的学习积极性有什么变化?3) 外籍教师的课堂参与度情况如何?是否有可取之处?又存在着哪些不足?

In accordance with the blueprint of China’s foreign language framework under The Belt and Road Initiative, and based on frontier research results both at home and abroad of relevant issues about foreign language teachers, the research explores the practical teaching effectiveness of foreign teachers, from the perspective of 1000 college students of 30 colleges and universities in Zhejiang. Employing hybrid researching method (the triangular demonstration method combined with qualitative and quantitative techniques), the study aims to explore the following problems: 1) After Chinese students receiving the teaching of foreign teachers, what’s their performance in academic record? And are the foreign teachers practically useful in helping to improve students’ oral proficiency? 2) How do the foreign teachers mobilize the learning initiative of Chinese students? And is there any change of their learning initiative? 3) What’s the situation of students’ participation in foreign teachers’ classes? Is there anything desirable or deficient?
