Abstract: In order to understand the difference between the different grades of middle school students' mobile phone dependence and its related factors, in this study, 370 middle school students in Beijing were investigated by using the mobile phone dependence scale for middle school students. The results showed that: 1) The detection rate of mobile phone dependence was 16%. 2) There was no significant difference on mobile phone dependence in the subject preference and demographic variables whether they were the only child. But on the gender variables, the female mobile phone dependence score was significantly higher than the boys’ score, and then the girls' mobile phone dependence was more serious. There is a significant positive correlation between the total score of mobile phone dependence and total cost, communication fee, Internet access fee and time of starting up. Middle school students, who spend more on the mobile phone, communication fees, Internet access fees, and more time on the phone, are more dependent on mobile phones. 3) There were significant differences in the total score of mobile phone dependence in the grade, and the total score of the second grade was significantly higher than that of the first, second, and third (p < 0.01). The grade of mobile phone dependence of senior middle school students was significantly higher than that of junior middle school students (p < 0.01). Grade Two in junior school and high school are the highest proportion of mobile phone dependents. The proportion of mobile phone dependents in senior high school is higher than that of junior high school students.
