Abstract: Objective: To investigate the effects of family dynamics and self-esteem on resilience in college students. Methods: The Systematic Family Dynamics Scale, Self-esteem Scale and CD-RISC were used to survey 1206 college students. Results: 1) There was a significant positive correlation be-tween family dynamics, self-esteem and resilience. 2) Family atmosphere, personality and disease concept can positively and significantly predict resilience, while system logic negatively predicted the tolerance of negative emotions, sense of control (β = −0.119, 0.107, p < 0.01) and individual ability of resilience (β = −0.090, p < 0.05). 3) The significant effect of family atmosphere on the positive prediction of self-esteem (β = 0.35, p < 0.01) was greater than that of personality and systematic logic on the positive prediction of self-esteem (β = 0.11, 0.10, p < 0.05), but disease concept has no predictive effect on self-esteem (β = −0.05, p > 0.05); Self-esteem has a significant positive predictive effect on resilience (β = 0.53~0.65, p < 0.001). Conclusion: Family dynamics can positively predict college students’ resilience, and self-esteem plays a part in mediating between family dynamics and college students’ resilience.
