Analyzing The Book of Songs: Vagrant in the Perspective of Aristotle’s Tragedy

摘要: 亚里士多德经典悲剧理论中的情节说、性格说、净化说等对西方文学产生了深远的影响，本文用亚氏理论解读中国古代悲剧弃妇长诗《诗经•氓》，分析其理论对于中国文学的适用性，并探讨净化说的审美教育功能及其对于当下的现实意义，旨在突出经典文学的教化及导向力量，并从中西方文论交流共鉴中更好地理解和领悟文学作品。

Abstract: This paper uses Aristotle’s classical tragedy theory of plot, character, and katharsis to interpret the ancient Chinese tragedy, the long poem The Book of Songs: Vagrant, analyzes the applicability of this theory to Chinese literature, and discusses the aesthetic and educational function of the katharsis theory and its current significance, aiming to highlight the edifying and guiding power of classic literature and to better understand and com-prehend literary works through the mutual communication and appreciation of Chinese and West-ern literary theories.
