Literature Review on the Correlation between ESG Performance and Corporate Value

摘要: ESG作为可持续发展理念在企业界的投影，是当今贯彻高质量发展理念、实现“双碳”目标的有力抓手。ESG表现与企业价值相关性也成为了国内外学者研究的热点。文章首先梳理了企业ESG及其评价的概念界定，结合企业ESG表现与企业价值的理论和实证研究进行综述，归纳总结企业ESG表现与企业价值的正相关、负相关、“U”型关系及不相关四种关系，最后对现有研究进行述评并指出进一步的研究展望。
Abstract: As the projection of the concept of sustainable development in the business community, ESG is a powerful starting point for implementing the concept of high-quality development and achieving carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals. The correlation between ESG performance and enterprise value has become a popular topic among scholars both domestically and internationally. This paper first reviews the definition of enterprise ESG and its evaluation, and combines the theoretical and empirical studies on enterprise ESG performance and enterprise value to make a summary of the positive correlation, negative correlation, “U-shaped” relationship, and non-correlation between enterprise ESG performance and enterprise value. Finally, the existing research is reviewed and further research prospects are pointed out in this paper.
