Abstract: Objective: To investigate the effects of cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD) on cognitive impairment after minor stroke. Methods: The patients with minor stroke were collected from October 2017 to September 2019 in the Department of Neurology, affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University, and the CSVD score and cognitive impairment score were carried out. The patients were divided into cognitive impairment group and non-cognitive impairment group. Logistic regression analysis was used to screen the independent risk factors of cognitive impairment in 3 months after onset. Results: Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that years of education, number of PVS, WMH Fazekas scores, and the total burden of CSVD were independent risk factors for cognitive impairment in 3 months after minor stroke. Conclusions: Years of education, number of PVS, WMH Fazekas scores and the total burden of CSVD are independent risk factors for cognitive impairment after minor stroke.
