Abstract: The film “Creation of the Gods 1” is a film epic based on the ancient Chinese myth “The List of Investitures” and the Shang Dynasty, the second dynasty in Chinese history. Its grand picture and impressive mythic background have attracted many audiences at home and abroad, causing domestic audiences to discuss Chinese native mythology. The craftsmanship of the film itself, the connotation of Chinese mythology, and the aesthetics of Shang Dynasty have become the focus of the topic. Among them, the intertwined relationship between characters, the mythical elements full of mysterious atmosphere, the exquisite bronze utensils, the magnificent palace buildings, and the detailed patterns have even aroused the interest of historians and aesthetes, ordinary audiences and media creators of large-scale “Creation of the Gods” boom. The study of Chinese mythology and the history of Shang Dynasty has been promoted to a large platform for more people to understand.
