Abstract: “Yin-Yang” was originally a common nominal morpheme, but with the development of society, it has gradually evolved into a network word, and its meaning, part of speech and emotional color have undergone great changes. “Yin-Yang” has also evolved into a variety of new uses such as adjectives and verbs, which can serve as a variety of syntactic components in sentences, such as subject, attribute and predicate. This paper will make a linguistic analysis of “Yin-Yang” from the aspects of word meaning overview, grammatical function, word meaning evolution, popular causes and so on.
