高彩礼视角下的农村养老困境及其破解路径研究

Study on the Rural Pension Dilemma and Its Cracking Path under the Perspective of High Bride Price

摘要: 农村地区高额彩礼现象日益严重，不仅加重了家庭经济负担，也折射出传统婚俗观念与现代养老体系之间的深层冲突。从彩礼的起源与演变出发，分析其在现代社会中的文化与经济功能，重点探讨了农村高彩礼的形成原因，包括性别比失衡、传统“嫁女养老”观念、城乡差距等。深入揭示了彩礼与农村养老之间的内在联系，指出当前养老保险制度保障不足、家庭养老模式单一，导致农村家庭将彩礼作为替代性养老储备的普遍做法，高彩礼不仅未能缓解养老压力，反而加剧了代际关系紧张、性别不平等与社会不稳定等问题。为此，文章提出完善农村养老保障体系、转变传统观念、规范彩礼习俗等多方面的政策建议，旨在从制度与文化双重层面缓解高彩礼问题，推动农村婚俗改革与社会可持续发展。

Abstract: The phenomenon of exorbitant bride prices in rural areas is becoming increasingly severe, not only imposing a heavy economic burden on families but also reflecting the deep-seated conflict between traditional marriage customs and the modern pension system. Starting from the origin and evolution of bride prices, this paper analyzes their cultural and economic functions in modern society, and focuses on exploring the causes of high bride prices in rural areas, including the imbalance of the sex ratio, the traditional concept of “marrying off daughters for old-age support”, and the urban-rural gap. It deeply reveals the intrinsic connection between bride prices and rural old-age support, pointing out that the current insufficient coverage of the pension insurance system and the single model of family-based old-age support have led to the common practice of rural families using bride prices as an alternative old-age reserve. High bride prices not only fail to alleviate the pressure of old-age support but also exacerbate intergenerational tensions, gender inequality, and social instability. Therefore, this paper proposes policy suggestions from multiple aspects, such as improving the rural old-age support system, transforming traditional concepts, and regulating the customs of bride prices, aiming to alleviate the problem of high bride prices from both institutional and cultural perspectives and promote the reform of rural marriage customs and sustainable social development.
