摘要: 叶浅予于1957年为茅盾《子夜》创作了19幅插图,这些插图以线描为主,以“富于孕育性的顷刻”捕捉人物命运轨迹,通过角色的姿态与线条的变化,呈现个体从权威确立到彻底崩溃的悲剧历程。同时,插图选取公共空间与生活场景的典型切片,视觉化呈现20世纪30年代上海的社会矛盾与群众命运。从人物塑造、社会图景与图文对话三个层面展开分析,发现这些插图并不是简单的文本图解,而是巧妙地通过线条语言、空间构图与焦点提炼,与文学形成深层互文,既阐释文本,又深化主题内容。建构起具有独立审美价值的视觉叙事,实现了从文学点缀到艺术创造的升华。
Abstract: Ye Qianyu created 19 line drawing illustrations for Mao Dun’s “Midnight” in 1957, capturing the character’s fate track with “a pregnant moment”. Through the change of the character’s posture and lines, it presents the tragic course from the establishment of authority to the complete collapse. At the same time, the illustrations select typical slices of public space and life scenes to visually present the social contradictions and class divisions of Shanghai in the 1930s. From the three aspects of characterization, social picture and graphic dialogue, it is found that these illustrations are not simple text illustrations, but form a deep intertextuality with literature through line language, spatial composition and focus refinement, which not only explains but also transcends the original text, constructs a visual narrative with independent aesthetic value, and realizes the sublimation from literary appendage to artistic creation.
