英语动画电影字幕汉译的特点与策略研究——以《玩具总动员》系列为例

Characteristics and Strategies in Chinese Subtitling of English Animated Films—A Case Study of the Toy Story Series

摘要: 英语动画电影的译介是翻译工作的关键形式之一，对译者提出了较高的专业要求。本文以皮克斯动画工作室出品的《玩具总动员》系列电影为研究对象，通过对其官方汉译字幕的文本分析，深入探讨了译者在处理此类文本时所采用的翻译策略，并系统总结了该系列电影字幕汉译所呈现的主要特点。研究发现，译者在翻译过程中灵活运用了归化、改写和省略等策略，成功实现了字幕文本的通俗性与儿童友好性、口语化与口型化、文化适应性与趣味性的统一。本研究旨在为同类型动画电影的字幕翻译实践提供有益的借鉴与参考。

Abstract: The translation of English animated films constitutes a significant facet of translation practice, demanding high professional competence from translators. This paper takes the Toy Story series, produced by Pixar Animation Studios, as a case study. Through a textual analysis of their official Chinese subtitles, it delves into the translation strategies employed by translators when dealing with such texts and systematically summarizes the salient characteristics of the Chinese subtitling in this series. The study reveals that translators flexibly employ strategies such as domestication, rewriting, and omission, successfully achieving a synthesis of qualities: colloquialism and lip-sync synchronization, accessibility and child-friendliness, and cultural adaptability and entertainment value. This research aims to provide a useful reference for the subtitling practice of similar animated films.
