Abstract: The purpose of this article is to conduct a literature review and research prospects on the research on John Macquarrie’s thoughts in Sino-Christian Theology academic community. Macquarrie is an outstanding religious philosopher whose works have had a profound impact on the development of modern religious philosophical thought. Firstly, his life is reviewed, especially his contributions in the field of religious philosophy. Secondly, it introduces the current translation situation of his works in Sino-Christian Theology academic community. Then it analyzes the current research status of John Macquarrie’s thoughts in Sino-Christian Theology academic community, summarizes the ex-isting results, and pays attention to the existing research gaps. Finally, the article looks forward to future research directions and proposes some possible research directions and topics, including continuing to enhance the translation of his works, paying attention to his religious dialogue ideas, and focusing on his comparative and cross disciplinary research with other thinkers and academic fields to further expand and deepen the study of his ideas. These efforts are expected to promote a comprehensive interpretation of John Macquarrie’s ideas, deepen the understanding of John Mac-quarrie’s ideas by the Sino-Christian Theology academic community, and provide more reference and inspiration for future research.
