Abstract: Objective: To explore the impact of workplace telepressure on employee work engagement and to analyze the mediating role of cognitive crafting. Method: A questionnaire survey was conducted using scales for workplace telepressure, cognitive crafting, and work engagement among 511 employees of a private chain enterprise in Hebei Province. Results: Workplace telepressure is significantly negatively correlated with work engagement (r = −0.309, p < 0.01) and significantly negatively correlated with cognitive crafting (r = −0.251, p < 0.01), while cognitive crafting is significantly positively correlated with work engagement (r = 0.588, p < 0.01). Workplace telepressure can not only directly predict work engagement but also indirectly predict work engagement through the mediating role of cognitive crafting, with the indirect effect accounting for 43.64% of the total effect. Conclusion: Workplace telepressure has a negative impact on employee work engagement, and cognitive crafting plays a partial mediating role in this influence process.
