纽马克文本类型理论视角下的书信体小说翻译——以《查令十字街84号》为例

Translation of Epistolary Novels from the Perspective of Newmark’s Text Typology Theory—A Case Study of “84, Charing Cross Road”

摘要: 书信体小说叙事风格独特，艺术形式别具一格，它融合了书信的真实性和小说的艺术性，是研究不同历史时期社会情况与历史人物的重要资料。因此，书信体小说的翻译研究也十分重要。《查令十字街84号》是一本诞生于20世纪70年代的书信体小说，记录了美国作家海莲·汉芙与英国书商弗兰克·德尔以及书店全体员工之间的通信。本文在纽马克文本类型理论指导下，对《查令十字街84号》的翻译方法进行研究，以期对书信体小说的翻译带来一定的参考意义。

Abstract: Epistolary novels are characterized by their unique narrative style and distinctive artistic form, blending the authenticity of letters with the artistry of fiction. They serve as valuable resources for studying the social situation and historical figures in different periods. Consequently, research on the translation of epistolary novels holds significant importance. “84, Charing Cross Road”, an epistolary novel written in the 1970s, documents the correspondence between American writer Helene Hanff and British bookseller Frank Doel, as well as the entire staff of the bookstore. Guided by Newmark’s text typology theory, this paper explores the translation methods of “84, Charing Cross Road”, aiming to provide meaningful insights into the translation of epistolary novels.
