Abstract: Depression and overweight/obesity have increasingly become major health issues in modern society. Studies show that these conditions often co-occur and may share similar neurobiological mechanisms through alterations in the reward system. However, the specific role of the reward system in these conditions has not been fully explored. Understanding the impact of reward dysfunction in depression and obesity is crucial to revealing the underlying mechanisms of their comorbidity and potential treatment strategies. Meanwhile, investigating the alterations in reward function across these two conditions may have potential therapeutic implications for improving outcomes in individuals with depressive-obesity comorbidity. Therefore, future treatment strategies should focus on modulating reward function. Exploring reward-related changes in depressive-obesity comorbidity will provide crucial theoretical support for the clinical application of reward function interventions
