Sociological Insights on Sustainable Adaptive Reuse: Balancing Cultural Continuity and Community Engagement in Historic Buildings

摘要: 本文从社会学视角探讨旧建筑可持续再生设计中文化传承与社区融合的关系。通过文献综述、案例分析等方法，梳理了旧建筑改造中文化传承的内涵与实践，并深入分析了文化传承与社区融合的互动关系。研究发现，文化传承在旧建筑改造中不仅保留了历史记忆，还增强了社区文化认同感与凝聚力，而社区融合则通过居民参与和社会互动促进了改造项目的可持续发展。最后，本文提出了跨学科研究、政策支持与公众参与等建议，为旧建筑可持续再生设计提供了理论与实践参考。

Abstract: From a sociological perspective, this study examines the relationship between cultural heritage preservation and community integration in the sustainable adaptive reuse of historic buildings. Through literature review and case studies, it explores the conceptual framework and practical approaches to cultural preservation in architectural regeneration while providing an in-depth analysis of the interplay between cultural continuity and community cohesion. Findings reveal that cultural heritage conservation in adaptive reuse projects not only safeguards historical memory but also strengthens communal identity and social solidarity. Conversely, community integration—facilitated by resident participation and social interactions—contributes to the project’s long-term sustainability. The paper concludes with recommendations for interdisciplinary research, policy interventions, and enhanced public engagement, offering theoretical and practical insights for sustainable heritage revitalization.
