Urban Architecture from an STS Perspective

摘要: 通过探讨城市建筑学与科学技术学(STS)的交叉融合，提出在信息时代背景下，建筑创作需兼顾文化传承与全球文明趋势。文章从STS视角分析城市建筑学的理论基础，强调建筑是人与自然、科学与人文互动的复杂系统，需打破学科壁垒，融合自然科学、工程技术与人文社科知识。核心观点包括：城市建筑设计需考虑社会文化语境与技术发展；需批判性反思现有理论对技术与社会融合的不足；未来应通过跨学科整合培养复合型人才，实现建筑文脉传承与技术创新的双重挑战。

Abstract: By exploring the intersection and integration of urban architecture and Science and Technology Studies (STS), this paper proposes that architectural creation in the information age must balance cultural heritage with global civilizational trends. From an STS perspective, the article analyzes the theoretical foundations of urban architecture, emphasizing that architecture is a complex system involving interactions between humanity and nature, as well as between science and the humanities. It argues for breaking down disciplinary barriers and integrating knowledge from the natural sciences, engineering, and the humanities and social sciences. The core arguments include: (1) urban architectural design must take into account both sociocultural contexts and technological development; (2) there is a need for critical reflection on the limitations of existing theories regarding the integration of technology and society; and (3) future efforts must focus on fostering interdisciplinary talent via cross-disciplinary integration to address the dual challenges of preserving architectural context and advancing technological innovation.
