Abstract: As a fundamental pillar of the national economy, the steel industry exposes its workers to long-term work pressure characterized by high intensity, high risks, and special environmental conditions. This paper systematically reviews domestic and international research on the mental health status, core risk factors, underlying mechanisms, and intervention strategies for steel workers. This group is identified as a high-risk population for occupational mental health issues, with their psychological problems demonstrating the characteristics of high burden, low recognition, and difficult intervention. This review summarizes the mental health status and related influencing factors among steel industry workers, aiming to provide a basis for establishing a multi-level, integrated mental health promotion system tailored to the unique features of the steel industry, thereby achieving the goal of safeguarding the mental health of steel industry workers.
