Exploring New Models of Thalassemia Popularization among University Students

摘要: 地中海贫血(简称地贫)是我国南方地区高发的遗传病，已成为影响出生人口素质、加重家庭与社会医疗负担的重大公共卫生问题。在“健康中国2030”战略深入推进的背景下，加强地贫科普宣传，提升公众防治认知水平，对于推动防控关口前移和提高整体人口健康素质具有重要意义。本文系统分析了开展地贫科普宣传的必要性与现实挑战，借鉴意大利、泰国和马来西亚等国外经验，结合我国国情实际，提出构建“高校–社区”双轨联动的地贫科普宣传实施路径，助力“健康中国2030”战略目标的实现。

Abstract: Thalassemia is a prevalent genetic disorder in southern China and has become a significant public health concern, negatively impacting birth outcomes and placing considerable strain on families and the healthcare system. In line with the goals of the “Healthy China 2030” initiative, improving science communication and public awareness of thalassemia prevention is critical for advancing early intervention and enhancing overall population health. This study systematically examines the necessity and key challenges associated with thalassemia education. Drawing on international practices in Italy, Thailand, and Malaysia, and taking into account China’s unique context, we propose a “university-community” dual-track model for science communication. This approach supports the realization of the “Healthy China 2030” strategic goals.
