The Enlightenment of the Thought of “Benevolence” in The Analects on Contemporary Individual Self-Cultivation

摘要: 在价值多元、信息爆炸的当代社会，个体面临着前所未有的精神困境与道德挑战。如何安身立命、涵养德性，成为一个亟待解决的时代命题。作为儒家思想的核心，《论语》中的“仁”学体系，以其深邃的伦理智慧与实践品格，为当代个体的修身提供了历久弥新的精神资源。本文旨在系统梳理《论语》中“仁”的内涵、实现路径及其与礼、知、勇等德目的关系，并在此基础上，结合当代儒学研究成果，深入探讨其在重塑道德主体性、构建和谐人际关系、培育责任担当以及提供生命终极关怀四个维度上，对当代个体修身所具有的深刻启示意义，以期为现代人寻求安顿身心、完善人格的精神家园提供有益借鉴。

Abstract: In the contemporary society featuring diverse values and information explosion, individuals are confronted with unprecedented spiritual dilemmas and moral challenges. How to settle down and cultivate virtue has become an urgent issue of the times. As the core of Confucianism, the system of “benevolence” in The Analects, with its profound ethical wisdom and practical character, provides an enduring spiritual resource for the self-cultivation of contemporary individuals. This paper aims to systematically sort out the connotation of benevolence in The Analects, its realization approaches, and its relationship with virtues such as ritual propriety, wisdom, and courage. On this basis, combined with contemporary research findings on Confucianism, it further explores the profound enlightenment of benevolence on individual self-cultivation in four dimensions: reshaping moral subjectivity, constructing harmonious interpersonal relationships, fostering a strong sense of responsibility, and providing ultimate concern for life. It is expected to offer a useful reference for modern people seeking a spiritual home to settle their body and mind and perfect their personality.
