贵州珍稀人物传记《历代黔贤传略》稿本述论

A Discourse on the Manuscript of Biographical Sketches of Virtuous Persons in Guizhou through the Ages: A Biography of Rare and Precious Figures in Guizhou

摘要: 《历代黔贤传略》一书于1936年由贵州文献征辑馆奉令编纂，后因经费不足长期以稿本存世，一直未得到重视。这部稀见的地方人物传记，旨在表彰先哲芳烈、宣扬乡邦精神；其内容以时为序收录汉至民初四十二位黔贤的生平事迹，文本中的注释部分蕴藏丰富历史信息；在史料运用上，远代人物以正史方志为据，近世人物则采用墓志、行状等私撰文献，与同期《贵州通志·人物志》可形成互补；其文本追求简明扼要、重文采辞章，兼具教材属性与文学价值。作为贵州乡贤传记的珍稀文献，《历代黔贤传略》不仅为贵州历史人物研究提供重要资料，其编纂方式与时代精神，也为深化贵州地方史研究提供了新视角。

Abstract: The Biographical Sketches of Virtuous Persons in Guizhou Through the Ages was compiled in 1936 by the Guizhou Literature and Documentation Collection Institute under official orders. Later, due to insufficient funds, it existed only as a manuscript for a long time and failed to receive due attention. This rare collection of local biographies was intended to commend the virtues and achievements of past sages and promote the spirit of the native land. Arranged chronologically, it records the life stories of forty-two Guizhou worthies from the Han Dynasty to the early Republican Period. The annotations in the text contain abundant historical information. The annotations contain a wealth of historical information. In the use of historical materials, it draws on official histories and local gazetteers for figures of remote eras, while adopting privately compiled documents such as epitaphs and funeral orations for those of recent times-complementing Guizhou Tongzhi·Biography Volume of the same period. Its text pursues conciseness and emphasizes literary grace and diction, boasting both textbook attributes and literary value. As a rare document on the biographies of virtuous locals in Guizhou, Biographical Sketches of Virtuous Persons in Guizhou Through the Ages not only provides important materials for the study of Guizhou’s historical figures, but also offers a new perspective for deepening the study of Guizhou’s local history through its compilation method and the spirit of the times.
