冀鲁官话大学生英语双元音感知研究
A Study on the Perception of English Diphthongs in College Students of Jilu Dialect

摘要: 为探究冀鲁官话区大学生英语双元音感知规律，以修订版语言学习模型(SLM-r)为理论基础开展实证研究。实验主要通过选取河北省内冀鲁官话区高校31名非英语专业本科生为被试，采用听力测试考察其对/eɪ/、/aɪ/、/ɔɪ/、/ɪə/、/eə/、/ʊə/、/əʊ/、/aʊ/这8个英语双元音共23个单词的感知准确度。结果表明：被试对不同双元音的感知正确率存在显著差异，呈现鲜明的方言迁移特征。/eɪ/与/aɪ/感知错误率最低，分别为2.2%和3.2%；/ɪə/与/eə/感知困难最大，错误率分别达33.3%和35.5%；/ɔɪ/、/ʊə/、/əʊ/、/aʊ/的错误率介于14%~18%之间。研究结果基本支持了SLM-r关于二语语音感知的核心观点，为该理论在英语双元音感知领域的适用性提供了来自特定方言群体的实证证据。
Abstract: To investigate the perception patterns of English diphthongs among college students in the Hebei-Shandong Mandarin-speaking region, this study employed the revised Speech Learning Model (SLM-r) as a framework for empirical research. Thirty-one undergraduate non-English majors from universities in Hebei Province’s Hebei-Shandong Mandarin-speaking area were selected as participants. Their perceptual accuracy for 23 English diphthongs (including /eI/, /aI/, /ɔI/, /Iə/, /eə/, /ʊə/, /əʊ/, and /aʊ/) was assessed through listening tests. Results revealed significant differences in perceptual accuracy across diphthongs, demonstrating distinct dialectal transfer characteristics. The lowest error rates were observed for /eI/ and /aI/ (2.2% and 3.2% respectively), while /Iə/ and /eə/ showed the highest difficulty with error rates reaching 33.3% and 35.5%. Error rates for /ɔI/, /ʊə/, /əʊ/, and /aʊ/ ranged between 14% and 18%. These findings support the core tenets of SLM-r regarding second language phonetic perception and provide empirical evidence from a specific dialectal group, validating the theory’s applicability in English diphthong perception.
