AI Dependence and Creativity: The Mediating Role of Creative Self-Efficacy and the Moderating Role of Perceived AI Creativity
Abstract: With the increasing prevalence of AI dependence, the academic community has proposed three perspectives on the relationship between AI dependence and creativity: the inhibition view, the promotion view, and the interaction view. Based on the interaction view, this study adopted a questionnaire survey with 445 participants to explore the mediating role of creative self-efficacy between AI dependence and creativity, and the moderating role of perceived AI creativity in this mediating effect. The results showed that: 1) AI dependence had no significant predictive effect on creativity; 2) Creative self-efficacy played a complete mediating role between AI dependence and creativity; 3) The moderated mediating effect was significant, and perceived AI creativity only moderated the first half path of the mediation (AI dependence → creative self-efficacy).
