基于语料库的《德伯家的苔丝》语义构式及其意义建构研究

A Corpus-Based Study of Semantic Constructions and Meaning Construction in Tess of the d’Urbervilles

摘要: 本文基于语料库分析方法，从构式语法视角出发，对《德伯家的苔丝》中“pure”“fate”“sin”等核心语义节点进行系统考察。借助Sketch Engine提取相关语料，通过词频统计、搭配分析及语法特征分析，识别出若干高频语义构式，如“a pure woman”“be doomed to”“be blamed for”等，并考察其在不同语境中的分布特征。研究发现，这些构式在文本中呈现出较为稳定的评价意义倾向及角色关系指向，其中“pure”类构式多与道德评价语境共现，“fate”类构式常以被动结构呈现决定性语义，而“sin/blame”类构式则呈现出一定的归责倾向。进一步分析表明，这些构式在人物形象建构与叙事推进中具有重要作用，并反映出文本中意义建构的系统性特征。本文从语料库语言学与构式语法相结合的角度，为文学文本的语言模式研究提供了一种可操作的分析路径。

Abstract: This study adopts a corpus-based approach and a constructional perspective to investigate key semantic nodes in Tess of the d’Urbervilles, namely “pure,” “fate,” and “sin.” Using Sketch Engine, the study extracts relevant data and conducts frequency, collocational, and grammatical analyses to identify recurrent semantic constructions and their distribution patterns. The findings indicate that these constructions exhibit relatively stable semantic tendencies and functional features: “pure”-related constructions are mainly associated with evaluative contexts, “fate”-related constructions contribute to event progression, and “sin/blame”-related constructions reflect patterns of evaluative relations. Further analysis shows that these constructions play a significant role in character representation and narrative development, revealing systematic mechanisms of meaning construction in the text. By integrating corpus linguistics with construction grammar, this study proposes a replicable analytical framework for exploring linguistic patterns in literary texts.
