Application Progress of Non-Invasive Brain Stimulation in Cognitive Enhancement for Healthy Adults
Abstract: Non-invasive brain stimulation (NIBS) has emerged as a core tool in cognitive neuroscience research and brain function enhancement. This paper aims to systematically review the recent research progress of NIBS in improving the cognitive functions of healthy adults. The review unfolds across three core dimensions: first, an in-depth analysis of the mechanisms of action of different neuromodulation devices; second, an exploration of the modulating effects of various stimulation modalities on neuroplasticity; and finally, a systematic summary of the application outcomes of NIBS across different cognitive domains. This provides a comprehensive theoretical framework for experimental design in the field of cognitive enhancement.
