Abstract: Artistic creation is not only the concretization of emotion, but also a strategic concealment of the subconscious through metaphor, symbolization, and structural means. Based on psychoanalytic theory and case studies of artists such as Frida Kahlo, Piet Mondrian, Gerhard Richter, Yayoi Kusama, and Banksy, this paper explores how art, in the dialectic of “revealing” and “concealing”, achieves symbolic transfer of trauma, formalized expression of psychological defense, and metaphorical reconstruction of subject boundaries through image encoding, stylistic choices, and virtualized narratives. The study argues that artistic “self-concealment” is not an escape, but a subconscious-driven mechanism for spiritual healing and meaning reproduction, providing an interdisciplinary perspective for understanding the psychological function of art in the digital age.
