摘要: 在数智媒介环境下,CCD、DV等复古摄影设备以“过时技术”的形态重新进入社交媒体活跃的青年女性群体的日常实践,成为技术怀旧的重要载体。本研究以媒介物质性理论为视角,结合深度访谈与主题分析法,系统探讨该群体使用复古摄影设备开展技术怀旧实践的多维动因,及其对记忆原真性的形塑机制。研究发现:该群体重拾旧媒介并非单一情感回溯,而是生活压力、平台逻辑、审美反思与身份焦虑等多重社会语境交织下的复合动机;复古摄影设备通过实体操作、物理存储、原生画质等物质特性与具身实践,从客观情境真实与主观情绪真实两个维度,重塑了区别于算法主导的智能手机影像的记忆结构。本研究明确了媒介物质性在技术怀旧中的基础性作用,揭示了数字时代青年女性的主体性重构逻辑,为理解青年媒介实践与记忆生产提供了新的理论视角。本研究结论仅适用于社交媒体活跃的青年女性群体,存在样本圈层性局限,未来可拓展至多元群体开展深化研究。
Abstract: In the digital-intelligent media environment, vintage photographic devices such as CCD cameras and digital video camcorders (DVs) have re-entered the daily practices of young women active on social media as “outdated technologies”, serving as vital carriers of technological nostalgia. Grounded in the theory of media materiality, this study employs in-depth interviews and thematic analysis to systematically examine the multi-dimensional motivations driving this group to engage in technological nostalgia practices via vintage photographic equipment, as well as the mechanism through which such practices shape the authenticity of memory. The findings reveal that the group’s return to old media is not merely a matter of emotional retrospection, but a composite motivation shaped by the interplay of multiple social contexts including life pressure, platform logic, aesthetic reflection and identity anxiety. Relying on their material features and embodied practices—such as physical operation, physical storage and native image quality—vintage photographic devices reconstruct a memory structure distinct from algorithm-dominated smartphone imagery, in terms of both objective situational authenticity and subjective emotional authenticity. This study clarifies the foundational role of media materiality in technological nostalgia, uncovers the logic of subjectivity reconstruction among young women in the digital age, and offers a new theoretical lens for understanding youth media practices and memory production. The conclusions of this research are only applicable to young women active on social media, with limitations arising from the homogeneity of the sample group. Future studies may be extended to diverse populations for further in-depth investigation.
