The Impact of Digital Literacy on the Health of Older Adults from the Perspective of Social Capital Theory—An Analysis Based on CHARLS 2015~2020 Panel Data
Abstract: Against the intensifying aging, the lack of digital social capital among the elderly has become a major barrier to healthy aging. Based on CHARLS 2015~2020 data and social capital theory, this paper empirically examines the impact of digital literacy on the health of the elderly. The results show that digital literacy significantly improves the health of the elderly, with the strongest marginal effect in the low-support and low-health behavior group, while the high-support group only achieves incremental optimization. Urban-rural and educational factors play moderating roles, and insufficient rural digital access and educational differences restrict the release of health benefits.
