哈萨克斯坦代表性相似美食英译名对比及其人文交流意蕴

A Comparative Study of the English Translations of Representative Cuisines with Similarities between Xinjiang and Kazakhstan and Their Implications for Cultural and People-to-People Exchanges

摘要: 新疆地区与哈萨克斯坦因地理、历史因素，饮食文化存在共性。美食是文化交流符号，本文以那仁、包尔萨克、馕、抓饭、马肠子等七种相似美食为对象，通过对比分析法研究其英译名，探究饮食文化关联及译名对跨文化交流的影响。研究发现，当前新疆地区与哈萨克斯坦相似美食英译名多为音译，存在可读性差、美食物质属性模糊、文化内涵缺失等问题，并根据情况适配“音译”、“音译 + 意译”等方法，以规范英译名，助力文化传播，推动两国文化交流、民间往来与国际合作。

Abstract: Due to geographical and historical ties, Xinjiang and Kazakhstan share food culture commonalities. With cuisine as a cultural exchange symbol, this study uses comparative analysis to examine Eng-lish translations of seven similar foods such as Naren, Baursak, Nang, Plov, Horsemeat Sausages, ex-ploring food culture connections and translation impacts on cross-cultural communication. Findings show most translations rely on transliteration, with issues like poor readability, vague food attrib-utes and cultural gaps. It proposes adapting “transliteration” or “transliteration plus free transla-tion” to standardize terms, facilitating cultural dissemination, bilateral exchanges and international cooperation.
