生态翻译学视角下甬剧文化负载词的英译策略研究
A Study on the English Translation Strategies of Culture-Loaded Terms in Ningbo Opera from the Perspective of Eco-Translatology
摘要: 甬剧作为宁波的地方传统戏剧,台词以方言演绎,蕴含着大量承载地域特色与历史意蕴的文化负载词,其英译面临较大挑战。本研究以胡庚申提出的生态翻译学“三维转换”理论为分析框架,结合甬剧经典剧目中的具体台词案例,探讨甬剧文化负载词的英译策略。研究发现,通过语言维、文化维、交际维的三维转换,有助于实现文化负载词的语言形式转换、文化内涵传递及舞台交际效果再现。该理论为地方戏剧的翻译实践提供了一个有益的分析视角,有助于译者在理解原文的基础上,兼顾目标语受众的语言习惯与文化认知,减少因中西文化差异可能引发的理解障碍,从而推动中国地方文化与中华文化的对外传播。
Abstract: As a traditional local opera form, Ningbo Opera (Yongju) is performed in the Ningbo dialect and contains numerous culture-loaded terms rich in regional characteristics and historical connotations, which pose considerable challenges for English translation. This study adopts Hu Gengshen’s “three-dimensional transformation” theory of eco-translatology as an analytical framework and analyzes selected lines from classic repertoires to explore translation strategies for culture-loaded terms in Ningbo Opera. The findings indicate that transformations at the linguistic, cultural, and communicative levels facilitate the transformation of linguistic forms, the transmission of cultural connotations, and the recreation of stage communicative effects. This theoretical framework offers a valuable analytical perspective for the translation of local operas, assisting translators in accommodating the linguistic habits and cultural cognition of target audiences while ensuring accurate comprehension of the source text, thereby reducing potential misunderstandings caused by differences between Chinese and Western cultures and promoting the international dissemination of both local and broader Chinese culture.
