基于语料库的徐穆实翻译风格研究——以《额尔古纳河右岸》英译为例

A Corpus-Based Study of Xu Mushi’s Translation Style—A Case Study of the English Translation of The Last Quarter of the Moon

摘要: 本研究基于语料库方法，以功能对等理论和文化转向理论为理论基础，对徐穆实翻译的《额尔古纳河右岸》英译本进行了系统性分析，旨在揭示其翻译风格及在文学性重写与文化可辨性之间的平衡机制。《额尔古纳河右岸》作为迟子建创作的鄂温克族史诗式小说，蕴含丰富的文化特异性与语言陌生化特征，为翻译研究提供了典型案例。通过构建英汉平行语料库，本研究从词汇、句法及语篇三个层面，结合定量与定性分析方法，深入探讨了徐穆实的翻译策略及其效果。研究结果表明，徐穆实在翻译过程中既注重功能对等，力求在目标语中再现原文的信息和风格，又兼顾文化转译，通过音译加注释等策略保留原文的文化特色。

Abstract: Guided by functional equivalence theory and the cultural turn theory, this corpus-based study systematically examines Xu Mushi’s English translation of The Last Quarter of the Moon (originally titled E’erguna He You’an in Chinese), aiming to uncover his translation style and the balancing mechanism between literary rewriting and cultural recognizability. Written by Chi Zijian, this epic novel of the Ewenki people is rich in cultural specificities and linguistic defamiliarization, making it an exemplary case for translation research. By constructing an English-Chinese parallel corpus, this study conducts both quantitative and qualitative analyses at the lexical, syntactic, and discourse levels to explore Xu Mushi’s translation strategies and their effects. The findings indicate that Xu Mushi not only strives for functional equivalence to reproduce the source text’s message and style in the target language, but also attends to cultural translation by employing strategies such as transliteration with annotations to preserve the source text’s cultural features.
