从接受美学看《福尔摩斯探案全集》丁钟华译本的跨文化移植
A Study on Cross-Cultural Adaptation of Ding Zhonghua’s Translation of The Complete Sherlock Holmes from the Perspective of Reception Aesthetics
摘要: 全球化背景下,如何在保留源语文化特质的同时满足目标语读者的接受需求,已成为文学翻译研究的核心议题之一。《福尔摩斯探案全集》丁钟华译本诞生于20世纪80年代初中国读者大量接触西方文学的历史节点,因此其翻译实践对考察文学翻译中的读者导向策略具有典型意义。本文以接受美学为主要理论框架,从词汇和句法两个层面对丁译本的跨文化移植策略进行系统分析。研究发现,译者灵活运用语义对应、语义泛化等策略,在保留原著基本面貌的基础上为读者消除了阅读障碍。本文通过系统分析,希望能对当代文学翻译实践提供参考与借鉴。
Abstract: How to preserve the cultural characteristics of the source language while meeting the reception needs of target-language readers in the context of globalization has become one of the central issues in literary translation studies. Ding Zhonghua’s Chinese translation of The Complete Sherlock Holmes emerged at a pivotal historical moment in the early 1980s, when Chinese readers were first encountering Western literature on a large scale, making its translation practice particularly representative for examining reader-oriented strategies in literary translation. Drawing on Reception Aesthetics as its primary theoretical framework, this paper systematically analyzes the cross-cultural transplantation strategies employed in Ding’s translation at both the lexical and syntactic levels. The study finds that the translator flexibly employs strategies such as semantic equivalence and semantic generalization, thereby removing barriers for readers while preserving the essential character of the original work. Through this systematic analysis, the paper aims to offer reference and insight for contemporary literary translation practice.
