论《红楼梦》与《儒林外史》中的两位赵姨娘
On the Two Concubines Zhao in Dream of the Red Chamber and The Scholars
摘要: 《红楼梦》与《儒林外史》是中国古典白话小说的两座高峰，历来被誉为“南吴北曹，相映成辉”。有趣的是，这两部小说塑造了两个相似的侍妾形象，即贾政之妾赵姨娘，严监生之妾赵氏。在社会角色上，她们既不是奴才，也不是正经主子，可以说是整个封建大家庭中的边缘人，始终难以逃脱封建宗法礼教的束缚，一生处于被压迫被物化的地位。
Abstract: Dream of the Red Chamber and The Scholars stand as the two pinnacles of classical Chinese vernacular fiction, long praised with the saying, “Wu in the South and Cao in the North, shining brilliantly side by side.” Interestingly, both novels feature strikingly similar concubine figures: Concubine Zhao, concubine of Jia Zheng, and Zhao Shi, concubine of Yan Jiansheng. Socially, they are neither mere servants nor legitimate mistresses; they may be regarded as marginal figures within the feudal extended family. Forever confined by feudal patriarchal ethics, they spend their entire lives in a state of oppression and objectification.
