基于语料库的非遗外宣文本中隐喻翻译的“文化过载”现象研究——以二十四节气外宣翻译为例

A Corpus-Based Study on Cultural Overload in Translation of Metaphors in Publicity Texts about Intangible Cultural Heritage—A Case Study of the Twenty-Four Solar Terms

摘要: 本研究以二十四节气非遗外宣文本为例，探讨隐喻翻译中的“文化过载”现象。研究构建汉英平行语料库，对源文本隐喻进行识别与分类，参考文化信息密度构建了“负度、零度、中度、重度”的四级文化过载评估模型。通过研究在不同文化信息密度及过载等级下，不同翻译策略所产生的效果，进而提出分级翻译策略。研究发现，隐喻翻译的文化过载风险与隐喻类型及策略选择直接相关，适配的分级策略能有效缓解跨文化理解障碍，提高翻译质量。

Abstract: This research takes the foreign publicity texts of the Twenty-Four Solar Terms as an example to explore the “cultural overload” phenomenon in metaphor translation. A parallel Chinese-English corpus was constructed for the identification and classification of metaphors in the source texts. A four-level cultural overload assessment model of “negative, zero, medium and heavy” was established based on the cultural information density. Through analysis of the effects produced by different translation strategies under different cultural information densities and overload levels, a graded translation strategy was proposed. The study found that the risk of cultural overload in metaphor translation is directly related to the metaphor type and strategy selection. The appropriate graded strategy can effectively alleviate cross-cultural understanding barriers and provide a reference for improving the quality of non-official publicity translation of intangible cultural heritage.
