三维转换与多模态协同下的诗词英译文化传播路径——以《长安三万里》为例

Pathways for Cultural Communication in Poetry Translation under Three-Dimensional Transformation and Multimodal Synergy—A Case Study of Chang An

摘要: 随着我国文化“走出去”战略的深入推进，中外文化交流日益密切，而数字化的迅猛发展让影视成为了文化交流传播的重要途径。《长安三万里》蕴含丰富的古诗词，影片及其字幕翻译均广受关注。本文以生态翻译学为主要理论支撑，融合多模态话语分析视角，从该理论的“译者中心论”以及语言维、文化维、交际维三个维度，分析《长安三万里》诗词英译字幕所做出的适应性选择转换，探讨译者如何发挥自身主体性，克服语言习惯和文化认同的差异达到交际目的；同时，阐释多模态符号(图像、声音、画面构图等)如何与三维转换协同配合，弥补语言转换中的意象损耗，增强文化传播效果。研究表明，三维转换与多模态协同互为支撑、深度融合，可推动中国电影字幕中古诗词英译进一步发展，助力文化对外传播。

Abstract: With the in-depth advance of China’s “culture going global” strategy, cultural exchanges between China and other countries have grown ever closer, while rapid digital advancement has made film and television an important vehicle for cultural communication. Chang An contains a wealth of clas-sical Chinese poetry, and both the film and its subtitle translation have attracted wide attention. Grounded primarily in eco-translatology and integrating a multimodal discourse analysis perspec-tive, this paper examines the adaptive selections and transformations made in the English subtitle translation of the poems in Chang An from the theory’s “translator-centeredness” and the three di-mensions—linguistic, cultural, and communicative. It explores how the translator exerts her sub-jectivity to overcome differences in linguistic habits and cultural identification so as to achieve communicative purposes. At the same time, the paper explains how multimodal semiotic resources (images, sounds, picture composition, etc.) work in synergy with the three-dimensional transfor-mations to compensate for the loss of imagery caused by linguistic transfer and to enhance the ef-fectiveness of cultural communication. The study shows that three-dimensional transformations and multimodal synergy support each other and are deeply integrated, which can further advance the English translation of classical Chinese poetry in Chinese film subtitles and contribute to the cross-cultural dissemination of Chinese culture.
