能源英语新闻语料库驱动下的ESP课程设计研究

摘要: 当下全球能源结构转型加速,能源行业急需专业素养高、英语沟通能力强的复合型人才,因此专门用途英语(ESP)教学尤为重要。然而,ESP教学中普遍面临真实语料利用不足与数据驱动教学方法缺位的问题,难以满足学习者对专业领域语言技能的实际需求。为解决上述问题,本研究自建了基于《中国日报》(China Daily)等新闻来源的能源英语新闻语料库,采用语料库驱动分析方法,通过高频词统计、搭配强度计算及索引行分析,系统提炼能源新闻的核心语言特征,并将其应用于ESP能源类教学设计。本文分析了能源英语新闻在词汇、搭配句法和语篇层面的语言特征,并在此基础上设计了一套ESP课程方案,为能源类ESP课程提供了一条语料库驱动的设计路径,并为能源英语教学者提供了真实、可及的教学材料。
Abstract: With the accelerated transition of the global energy structure, the energy industry is in urgent need of interdisciplinary talents with high professional competence and proficient English communication skills. Therefore, English for Specific Purposes (ESP) teaching has become particularly significant. Nevertheless, ESP instruction is generally plagued by insufficient utilization of authentic corpus materials and the absence of data-driven pedagogical approaches, which renders it difficult to meet learners’ practical demands for language proficiency in specialized energy fields. To address these issues, this study constructs a self-built corpus of energy English news discourse based on news sources such as China Daily. Adopting a corpus-driven analytical method, it systematically extracts core linguistic features of energy news through high frequency word statistics, collocation strength calculation and concordance analysis, which are further applied to the instructional design of ESP courses of energy English. This paper analyzes the linguistic characteristics of energy English news discourse at lexicon, collocation and discourse levels. On this basis, an ESP curriculum framework is formulated. Consequently, this research offers a corpus-driven design pathway for ESP courses of energy English and provides authentic and accessible teaching materials for energy English educators.
