Effect of Pyramid-Type Trapezoidal Cross-Section Channels on the Heat Transfer Performance of PCHE
Abstract: This paper presents an in-depth analysis of the effects of pyramid structure height on flow and heat transfer characteristics, as well as average performance parameters. It clarifies that increasing the structural height intensifies flow non-uniformity and increases flow resistance loss, while the enhancement in heat transfer exhibits a marginal effect. Furthermore, the study reveals the Reynolds number dependence of the comprehensive performance: the structure with hp = 0.14 mm is optimal when Re < 10,000, whereas hp = 0.16mm demonstrates superior performance when Re > 10,000. These findings provide a quantitative basis for the structural parameter optimization of PCHE.
