英语学科核心素养导向下的“看”技能发展策略
Strategies for the Development of “Viewing” Skills from the Perspective of Core Competencies in English Education

摘要: 在读图时代与多模态语篇普及的背景下,《义务教育英语课程标准》将“看”正式纳入英语语言技能体系,其既是理解性技能,也是表达性技能,是识别、整合、理解视觉信息并进行批判性分析与创造性表达的综合能力。“看”技能对强化学生语言能力、塑造文化意识、提升思维品质、促进学习能力具有重要价值,是落实英语学科核心素养的关键路径。当前英语教学中,“看”技能培养存在活动设计缺乏目标与理论支撑、多模态资源教育价值挖掘不足、重结果轻过程、课内课外衔接缺失等问题,训练流于形式、深度不足。基于此,研究提出核心素养导向下的发展策略:明确教学目标并系统化设计“看”的教学活动;充分运用多模态语篇,引导学生解析视觉要素与语篇意义关联;推动“看”与听、说、读、写技能融合发展,实现输入与输出协同。在多模态信息环境下,科学培养“看”技能,有助于学生高效提取信息、深化理解,突破传统阅读模式,全面提升英语综合素养。
Abstract: Under the context of the reading-image era and the widespread use of multimodal discourse, the Compulsory Education English Curriculum Standards have formally incorporated “viewing” into the English language skill system. “Viewing” is not only a receptive skill but also a productive one. It refers to a comprehensive ability to identify, integrate, and understand visual information, as well as to conduct critical analysis and creative expression. The development of “viewing” skills plays a significant role in enhancing students’ language competence, fostering cultural awareness, improving thinking quality, and promoting learning ability. It serves as a key pathway for implementing the core competencies of the English subject. However, in current English teaching practices, several problems remain in cultivating “viewing” skills, including the lack of clear objectives and theoretical support in activity design, insufficient exploration of the educational value of multimodal resources, an overemphasis on outcomes rather than processes, and weak connections between in-class and out-of-class learning. As a result, training often becomes superficial and lacks depth. In response, this study proposes development strategies oriented toward core competencies: clarifying instructional objectives and systematically designing “viewing” activities; making full use of multimodal texts to guide students in analyzing the relationship between visual elements and textual meaning; and promoting the integration of viewing with listening, speaking, reading, and writing to achieve coordination between input and output. In a multimodal information environment, the scientific cultivation of “viewing” skills helps students efficiently extract information, deepen comprehension, move beyond traditional reading patterns, and comprehensively enhance their overall English literacy.
